* Please note a correction about the presentation. I stated that "Christoplatonic tradition" was what Plato taught about Christ. Of course Plato lived long before Christ, and what I meant to communicate is how Plato's teachings influenced early interpretations of Christ's teaching, namely, that spirit (good) and body (evil) are separate (Plato), instead of both spirit and body needing redemption (Christ)... a redeemed body being just as good as a redeemed spirit. In summary, here is the point: Christoplatonism has led to the overall myth that heaven cannot be physical because all things physical are evil (Plato) a teaching contrary to Jesus' teaching.
